There has been a favorable change in our son’s attitude toward school and feelings about himself since attending Morningside. He is now very positive about his education. He enjoys going to school and shares with me much that he is learning. He feels very positive about himself.

Our son holds his head up now. He smiles, and according to him, he’s “gettin’ some knowledge.” He’s gone up three grade levels, and we’re all thrilled. For years he was so frustrated by all that he wanted to learn, but couldn’t. Now, he’s proud of the work he’s done, holds some keys to how he learns, and sees-for the first time-possibility.

Although it was a financial stretch, I enrolled my daughter at Morningside. After the first few weeks I noticed a change in her. She made a few friends and she was pleased with herself when her point sheet showed responsibility and progress. Her reading improved and she finally learned the times table fluently. She completed middle school at Morningside and then went on to be successful in high school. She graduated with a solid B average. She is now attending college.

‘I used to hate school but now I don’t’ is what our son used to say. This is key in the development of his confidence and self-esteem. Morningside is challenging him and at the same time is giving him the support and attention he needs. He is really enjoying his civics and psychology classes.

Our daughter is so bright and yet was so “blocked” because her learning disabilities prevented her from showing what she knows and learning about her world. Imagine the joy (and relief) that comes when your reading level goes up 3 grades in one year! The investment is so worth it. I wish this form of education could be available to any child who needs it.

I wanted to take this opportunity to say that Morningside Academy was the place that allowed me to turn my life around. It was the place that allowed me to learn how to focus and use my energy constructively. Ever since I left Morningside, I have never taken any drugs for my ADHD and have excelled in school still.

I am thrilled to tell you that, last night, my daughter brought home a report from her English class which showed her currently at 93% (class average is 91%)! Similarly, last week she brought home a report from her algebra class – 93%. Although the first day of high school was overwhelming, she regrouped, applied herself, and is showing a persistent motivation to succeed.

When I began questioning her reluctance to go to school, ability to focus in second grade, her principal at the time said to me, “Some kids just aren’t as smart as others.”

Wanna bet?!

I am deeply grateful to all of you for your work with my daughter, which has changed the course of her educational journey. Not only did you give her the educational success she needed, but also the respect and dignity she deserved.

So many educational organizations make so many different promises, but Morningside actually produces results that not only we, but our daughter, and everyone who has ever known or worked with her can see, and the word, “miracle,” is the most common description they use for the positive changes in her abilities, her self-confidence, and the new future she has open to her. My professional colleague, also a neuropsychologist, was right, “Morningside is the best kept secret in North American education!””

Morningside saved our lives. My daughter, after a fairly successful career in the primary grades, had failed to make the adjustment to middle school. The public schools were totally unable to meet her needs. After two and one-half years at Morningside she is now functioning successfully in a public high school. Thank You!

Our child had a tremendous year academically at Morningside. He had amazing progress and he felt very proud of what he accomplished.

I graduated from Morningside 26 years ago, and I never knew how much Morningside meant to me until now. You see it wasn’t until this year when I walked through Morningside’s doors once again with my own daughter that it hit me.
It was at that moment that I felt a rush of comfort, warmth and understanding. It was like coming home after years away. Then for the first time I realized how much Morningside truly meant to me. Morningside was the only place that understood me. They “got me”.

I am a person who can now accept that I had and still do have learning problems/disabilities. As a kid this was too difficult for me to accept. Even admitting it was and still is hard for me. I remember all the anger I had, the fear, sadness, and the feeling that no one understood.

Morningside taught me so much about myself. I started to enjoy learning, and I felt good about it and myself. The strategies I learned during my time at Morningside still help me in my everyday life.

I went on to have a successful career and am now devoting my time to caring for my wonderful family. When my oldest daughter started having trouble in school, it broke my heart. I was so scared. All my feeling from my childhood surfaced and it was then that I picked up the phone and called Morningside.

Once again Morningside delivered. My daughter is reading spontaneously and she enjoys reading. She is feeling better about herself, and I cannot thank Kent enough for creating Morningside and changing my life.

Kent and the entire staff at Morningside are amazing people. Thank you for all you have done for me, my child and all the other families past and present.
