Summer School 2026: Enroll Now!!

Using the Science of Reading and other evidence-based practices, Morningside guarantees 1/2 year’s growth in only 4 weeks!*

 

July  6-10   |   July 13-17   |   July 20-24   |   July 27-31

Choose between two, three, or four weeks, with the option of half or full days.

**Students attending all 4 weeks receive a comprehensive progress report that includes their pre- and post- standardized test scores and a description of all of their accomplishments! **

Students attending 2-3 weeks will receive standardized test scores from the initial assessment, but NOT post-testing.

3. Our Director of Admissions, Martha, will contact you to get more information about your child.

2025 Summer School Courses – Choose AM, PM, or both!

One Course available per session

  • AM sessions: 9:30 am – 12:15 pm
  • PM sessions: 1:15 pm – 4:00 pm

2 week minimum attendance required. MUST be consecutive

 

 

  Courses:

BASICS

The specific skills and strategies that students learn in the Basics courses are selected by the results from our initial placement tests. This allows us to provide each student with the optimal learning experience.

Literacy Basics

Who it’s for: Students entering Grades 2-3 in Fall 2026

What you’ll learn:

  • Fundamental Phonemic Awareness skills like blending & segmenting
  • Language, listening, and comprehension skills
  • Build fluency on reading sound, words, and handwriting

Math Basics

Who it’s for: Students entering Grades 2-3 in Fall 2026

What you’ll learn:

  • Counting, number line use, and greater than/less than
  • Basic place value concepts
  • Build fluency on number writing, addition & subtraction math facts

 

CORE SUCCESS

The specific skills and strategies that students learn in the Core Success courses are selected by the results from our initial placement tests. This allows us to provide each student with the optimal learning experience.

Reading

Who it’s for: Students entering Grades 4-9 in Fall 2026

What you’ll learn:

  • Multisyllabic word decoding and analysis
  • Comprehension and analytical reading strategies
  • Build fluency on reading sounds, words, and passages

Writing

Who it’s for: Entering Grades 3-9 in Fall 2026

What you’ll learn:

  • Sentence and paragraph writing
  • Writing persuasive compositions
  • Analyzing grammar to improve writing style and effectiveness
  • Build fluency on handwriting and typing

Math

Who it’s for: Entering Grades 4-9 in Fall 2026

What you’ll learn:

  • Place value concepts and mathematics vocabulary
  • Problem solving strategies
  • Algebraic thinking
  • Build Fluency on math facts, computation, and more

 

STUDY SKILLS

High School Prep

Who it’s for: Entering Grades 7-9 in Fall 2026*

What you’ll learn:

  • Executive Functioning skills for navigating content specific courses
  • How to take notes from a lecture and participate in group discussions
  • How to write study questions and create study notes

AM ONLY – 9:30am – 12:15pm

High School Prep is designed for students with reading skills at or above grade level. Want to boost your performance? Select this course as prep for middle school or high school.

  

Assessment & Placement

Each student who enrolls will complete placement testing prior to the summer program. With this plan, instructional time will not be taken up with testing. Based on assessment results, students will be enrolled in courses that best address their need.

Assessment Times:

Entering Grades in Fall 2026

Grades 2-3: 9:30am – 1:30pm

Grades 4-9: 9:30am – 3:00pm

*Any student unable to attend one of the three assessment dates will have placement tests administered the first day of class. They will not receive initial standardized assessments. If attending all 4 weeks, they will still receive post standardized assessments.

 

Tuition & Fees

Nonrefundable $500 fee reserves your space and is applied to tuition due. Balance due June 1st.

Half Day Program: $475 per week

Full Day Program: $950 per week

Assessment /Orientation fee: $125

*The Learning Guarantee

Eligible students will gain the equivalent of half a year growth in their area of greatest academic deficit (i.e. reading, writing or math). To be considered, students must attend the AM session for all four weeks. Other restrictions apply. Please see enrollment packet for the full list of requirements.
